Medical Students
Non-academic requirements:

Applicants for Medicine or Dentistry need to possess certain non-academic qualities to successfully complete their chosen Medical Degree course and during they're years practicing as a Doctor or a Dentist.

During the interview we will also be looking for evidence to demonstrate the following non-academic qualities:

Motivation/commitment
Know limitations - what a Doctor can and cannot do
Honesty
Flexible
Pro-social attitudes - non-judgmental, empathetic
Communication skills - listening, verbal and written communication
Insight - into what it is to be a doctor and know your own strengths and weaknesses
Team player - do you participate in any team sports or other teamwork?
Deals with stress appropriately - how well do you work under pressure?
Problem solver
Integrity - at least know what the word means!
Mental stamina - are you able to concentrate for long periods of time?
Independent - have you spent long periods of time away from home? Would you like to?
Language skills - do you pick up new languages well?
Sociable - do you enjoy meeting and mixing with new people, of different cultures?
Travel - have you been to Prague? Do you enjoy traveling?

In addition, applicants for Dentistry should add the following to the above list:

Manual Dexterity - are you good at using your hands? How could you demonstrate your manual dexterity? (e.g.: sewing, painting, DIY, pottery)
Concentration - are you able to concentrate for long periods of time?

Admissions will be looking for the above qualities during the interview and also at any other times we are in contact with the applicant.

All Medical Schools of Charles University in the Czech Republic, regardless of its location, annual tuition fee or length in course, carry equal standards in quality of teaching and recognition.
